On June 12, 2025, the 2025 IKCEST 7th "Belt and Road" International Big Data Competition and the 11th Baidu & Xi'an Jiaotong University Big Data Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "International Big Data Competition") will serve as the second "Belt and Road" Science and Technology Exchange Conference The special activities were officially launched in Chengdu, Sichuan.
On December 10, 2024, the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology under the auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST) held the inaugural meetings of its fourth Governing Board and fourth Advisory Committee in a hybrid format. Wang Chen, Director of IKCEST and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and Chen Jianfeng, Secretary-General of the CAE, were in attendance.
The first sessions of the fourth Advisory Committee and Governing Board for the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) were held in Beijing on the afternoon of December 10, 2024, both in person and via video links. Wang Chen, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Director of IKCEST, along with Chen Jianfeng, Secretary General of CAE, attended the sessions.
On December 2, 2024, the 6th IKCEST “Belt and Road” International Big Data Competition and the 10th Baidu & Xi’an Jiaotong University Big Data Competition concluded successfully at the university.
On March 5, 2024, Mohd Basyaruddin Abdul Rahman, Chair of the Governing Board of the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation under the auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC), joined ISTIC Director Tengku Sharizad Tengku Dahlan and former director Sharifah Maimunah Syed Zin on a visit to the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology also under the auspices of UNESCO (IKCEST), supported by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE).
On February 27, 2024, Wang Chen, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), met with Lidia Brito, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences during her visit to China, conducting an in-depth exchange about cooperation on UNESCO Category 2 centres and engineering report.
