On June 12, 2025, the 2025 IKCEST 7th "Belt and Road" International Big Data Competition and the 11th Baidu & Xi'an Jiaotong University Big Data Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "International Big Data Competition") will serve as the second "Belt and Road" Science and Technology Exchange Conference The special activities were officially launched in Chengdu, Sichuan. Li Xiaohong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of China Academy of Engineering, Deng Xiuxin, Vice President, Dong Weimin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the Provincial Government, Mondher Belaid, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Tunisia, Ewe Hong Tat, President of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Science, Hong Jun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Li Xuanya, Director of the University Cooperation Department of Baidu Company, attended the event.

The International Big Data Competition is jointly organized by the UNESCO International Engineering Science and Technology Knowledge Center (IKCEST), Baidu Company and Xi'an Jiaotong University. It uses real corporate practice cases as the starting point to tap cutting-edge talents in global big data artificial intelligence through competition methods. Previous competitions covered nearly 600 universities in 21 countries on five continents, with a total of more than 24000 teams participating. The 2025 International Big Data Competition is titled "Combining Large Models with Photo Identification and Problem Solving", and for the first time, contestants are encouraged to use large models to solve problems.

 

Li Xiaohong put forward three hopes in his speech: first, to closely follow actual needs and promote technological innovation in a problem-oriented manner; second, to uphold openness and sharing and deepen international technical exchanges and cooperation; third, to strengthen the integration of industry and education and accelerate the implementation and transformation of innovative achievements. On behalf of the organizer, Hong Jun sent a message to the majority of contestants. Li Xuanya introduced the competition situation over the years and the 2025 competition system.

The competition launching ceremony was supported by universities in the Chengdu-Chongqing region such as Sichuan University, Southwest Petroleum University, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu University, and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Representatives of the organizers presented flags to representatives of five universities and formally reached a competition cooperation. The opening ceremony and launching ceremony were presided over by Deng Xiuxin and Tian Qi, Director of the International Cooperation Bureau of China Academy of Engineering, respectively.

 

It is reported that this competition is divided into two parts: algorithm and AI native design. The AI native design is provided by technical support from Baidu Seconda.

 

Also present at the launching ceremony were relevant guests from China Academy of Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Baidu Company, Sichuan Province Department of Science and Technology, and Chongqing City Science and Technology Bureau, as well as teachers and students from universities in Chengdu and Chongqing, such as Sichuan University, Southwest Petroleum University, Chengdu University, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Before the meeting, Li Xiaohong and Deng Xiuxin had a courtesy meeting with foreign guests.
