Each year, IOC's Executive Council reviews issues and items from on-going work plans, and makes preparations for the Assemblies, which meet once per biennium.

This year's programme intends to place the development and operations of IOC in the perspective of a new global agenda provided by the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, COP21 framework, SAMOA Pathway, and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
