Charles P. Giesen John E. Koepsell E. V. HastingsM. C. F. Lindert
Abstract

A correlation study of 48 cases of punch liver biopsy material with autopsy specimens is presented. We are impressed by theremarkable correlation in both focal and diffuse disease. Punch biopsy material can be interpreted as reliably and accuratelyas autopsy material, especially by pathologists who have been oriented in the study of such tissue specimens, and particularlyif the clinical history and findings are utilized to assist the interpreting pathologist.
