Box models for the CO2 cycle of the earth

R. Avenhaus,S. Fenyi,H. Frick
Abstract

Box models for the global CO2-cycle are described by a system of first order linear differential equations with constant coefficients. Conditions for uniquely existing equilibrium states are given and the reaction to disturbances is analysed. Kalman filtering techniques are applied to uncertainty problems. Some numerical calculations are presented for illustration purposes.
