Average rapidity shift of leading baryons at ultra-relativistic energies

Abstract

We present the Dual Parton Model predictions for the average rapidity shiftexperienced by a baryon traveling through the nuclear matter as a function of the number of baryon-nucleon collisions. We show results for different values of the baryon-nucleon center-of-mass energy and compare them to the predictions of the Quark-Gluon String Model. Also the inelasticity parameter is shown for the same cases.
