Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of semantic peculiarities of some English adjectives, in particular, the antonymous adjectives heavy and light. The author analyses some theoretical aspects of adjectives: polysemy, lexical combinability, syntactical functions. The semantic peculiarities of the English adjectives heavy and light are studied from the viewpoint of their lexical combinability.

The article is devoted to the analysis of semantic peculiarities of some English adjectives, in particular, the antonymous adjectives heavy and light.
