Larissa Africa is the President of Versant Healthcare Competency Solutions™. Versant is a privately held company whose mission is to fundamentally transform health care outcomes by developing the workforces’ ability to provide safe, efficient, and competency-based care. The Versant New Graduate Nurse Residency™ (VNGNR) originated in 1999 at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Over the past 2 decades, over 25,000 nurses have completed the VNGNR. Versant has expanded work into programs that transition experienced nurses into new specialty areas of practice. A recent collaborative venture between Emory University and MedLink Georgia led to the implementation of the Versant Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Fellowship to transition new nurse practitioners.
