Abstract

Tris-(4:7-diphenyl-1:10-phenanthroline)-ironII reacts with cyanide in a neutral solution to form a violet coloured complex, dicyano-bis-(4:7-diphenyl-1:10-phenanthroline)-ironII. Use of this complex for the determination of iron in copper metal has been described. The method is applicable for the determination of 1 to 10 p.p.m. of iron in copper metal.
