Thomas S. Huang
Introduction: From 1973 to 1980, he was the director and professor of the Information Processing Laboratory of the School of Electronic Engineering at Purdue University. Professor Huang is an academician of the National Academy of Engineering, mainly engaged in information and signal processing research. He developed the predictive differential quantizer (PDQ) two-dimensional fax (document) compression method, which has become the international standard for G3 / G4 fax compression; in the field of multidimensional digital signal processing, he proposed the stability theory of recursive filters; The two-dimensional fax (document) compression formula of predictive differential quantizer (PDQ) uses two-dimensional image sequences to estimate three-dimensional motion, opening up a new field for image processing and computer vision.
