Fu Tingdong (Sep. 1938 - ), male, Han nationality, is a native of Yunan, Guangdong Province, an expert in crop genetics and breeding, and a member of the Communist Party of China. Professor Fu graduated from the School of Agronomy at the Huazhong Agricultural University in 1960 and gained his master’s degree in 1965. From 1981 to 1982, he did joint research on rapeseed in the former west Germany. He once served as the president of the Groupe Consultatif International de Recherche sur le Colza (GCIRC) in Paris from 2005 to 2009, director of the Agriculture and Forestry Branch of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, and vice chairman of the Crop Science Society of China (CSSC). At present, he is a professor at the Huazhong Agricultural University, director of the National Engineering Research Centre of Rapeseed, and president of the Hubei Association for Rapeseed Industry.
