Introduction:
Lin Zhongqin (1957.12.06-), a native of Zhenhai, Zhejiang Province, is an expert in mechanical engineering. He graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1982 and received his doctorate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1989. Followed title: the distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars Programme of the Ministry of Education, recipient of National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, and chief scientist of National 973 Program. He is the vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, vice president of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and vice president of China Society of Automobile Engineers. He has been engaged in the research of sheet metal products manufacturing process and quality control technology for a long time, established the manufacturing quality control technology of Chinese automobile industry, solved the key technical problems such as the evaluation and fault diagnosis of automobile body manufacturing quality under the condition of small samples, and made an important contribution to the improvement of automobile body manufacturing quality in China. The digital sample sealing technology is put forward, which can shorten the development cycle, improve the development quality and reduce the cost greatly. The application technology of automobile panel in China is established, and the problem of accurate prediction for shaping window is solved. The robust design technology proposed promotes the design and manufacturing technology progress of large and complex panels, and makes an important contribution to the batch use of domestic automobile panel instead of imported panel and high strength steel panel. The research results are widely used in automobile, aviation, aerospace and other industries, creating significant social and economic benefits. He has won three National Science and Technology Progress Awards, five first-class awards at the provincial and ministerial levels, achievement awards of the Changjiang Scholars Programme of the Ministry of Education, and The HO LEUNG HO LEE Foundation Innovation Award. He has published more than 300 papers and 3 books. In 2011, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
