Firdaus Hariri
Introduction: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Firdaus Hariri is a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and Department of Oro-Maxillofacial Surgical and Medical Science, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. He obtained both his dental and medical degrees from University of Malaya (UM) and had his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Queen Mary Hospital and Prince Philip Dental Hospital, The University of Hong Kong. He later had his craniofacial attachments at various established craniofacial centres in the United Kingdom and France. In addition to routine maxillofacial surgical practices such as orthognathic surgery, trauma and oral implantology, his subspecialty and research interests are focused on pediatric craniofacial and reconstructive surgery, distraction osteogenesis, bone regeneration for oral rehabilitation and the application of 3D printing in surgical planning. He is currently the coordinator for the multidisciplinary craniofacial clinic in UMMC, the team leader for Oro-Craniomaxillofacial Research and Surgical (OCReS) group at the Faculty of Dentistry UM, subspecialty coordinator for the Fellowship in Advanced Craniomaxillofacial Surgery UM as well as the editor-in-chief for Journal of Oro-Craniomaxillofacial Research and Surgery.
