Egypt: € 500 million to generate electricity using solar thermal energy

“KFW had started preparing feasibility studies for The solar thermal power project used for electricity generation at  Kom Ombo, Aswan”  said Hans Hammann first Counselor and Development Cooperation Referent at German Embassy in Cairo.
Hammann added that the generation ability of this project will be 100 Megawatt. Accordingly, the total investment cost of the project is approximately 500 million euros. It will be funded by contributions of the European Investment Bank and the French Development Agency, beside KfW on behalf of the German Ministry for the Environment for Economic Cooperation.
