HTC reported revenues of TWD 1.3 billion for the second quarter. Sales were less than half the TWD 2.8 billion reported a year earlier, but up 0.3 percent compared to the first quarter of this year. The company reduced its operating loss further, to TWD 1.7 billion from TWD 2.5 billion a year ago, and the gross margin improved to 26.5 percent from 20.3 percent over the same period. 

HTC's net loss totaled TWD 1.8 billion, versus a loss of TWD 2.2 billion. The company ended the quarter with TWD 25.6 billion in cash, down from TWD 27.9 billion in March.
