PTG, S2S team for e-waste recycling initiative in UK

Pure Technology Group (PTG), UK provider of ICT services to SME, corporate and public sector customers, has partnered with waste management company S2S Group to tackle e-waste.

The new zeroC initiative will support a closed loop, end-to-end lifecycle management for IT products for organisations, including laptops, phones and tablets. PTG group COO Cliff Fox said the scheme was designed to keep technology running in businesses for longer, having a positive impact on their bottom line and helping to reduce their carbon footprint.

PTG shipped 25,000 new laptops out to businesses during lockdown, mainly to support home working, and hopes the launch of zeroC will contribute to a change in mindset about technology. It claims that businesses can save the equivalent of 250 kg of CO2 by refurbishing a laptop through the scheme, and spend on average 50 percent less than buying a new product. The scheme will allow organisations to refresh their existing equipment for reuse within the same company.
