WHO – with funding from the Irish Government – recently delivered USD $250 000 of equipment to the Ugandan Ministry of Health to support its fight against COVID-19.

The delivery included 60 hand-held pulse oximeters, 49 oxygen concentrators, and 31 high nasal cannulas. The equipment is vital as Uganda is at a critical phase of its COVID-19 response as case numbers rise.

The newly-established COVID-19 command centre at the ministry was also equipped using the funds.

The latest donation is part of a 1.8 million Euro support package the Irish Government has provided Uganda through WHO for the country’s COVID-19 response. 

WHO thanks all donors and partners who have contributed to the Strategic Preparedness and Response Fund to combat COVID-19. A special appreciation goes to Member States and other contributors who provided flexible funds, making it possible for WHO to deliver a coherent, strategic and broad response.
