We are pleased to announce that OCTOPUZ has been acquired by ESAB Group Canada Inc.! ESAB is a recognized leader and global producer of welding and cutting equipment and consumables. The investment in the OCTOPUZ business reinforces ESAB’s strategic focus on welding automation and will add complementary technology as well as a strong offline robot programming brand to the ESAB digital portfolio. With the backing of ESAB, we will be able to better serve you and your overall automation needs.

What Does This Mean for OCTOPUZ?
OCTOPUZ will operate as an independent team within ESAB and continue to provide excellent software solutions and technical support for our customers and their installed systems from its current Canadian facilities. The current OCTOPUZ management team will remain intact, as will the existing sales, customer success, application engineering, technical support, and development teams to ensure consistency going forward with OCTOPUZ customers.

Looking back on 2020, we delivered significantly more value through our OCTOPUZ software to our OCTOPUZ users than we ever have before. Not only did we introduce our next generation robot programming experience for creating, modifying, and transforming path and search statements, we also significantly improved our user workflows for welding, cutting, machining, and additive manufacturing processes.

We are incredibly excited to join the ESAB family as we continue our journey to change the way that industrial robots are programmed! ESAB’s domain expertise, global reach, and commitment to continued investment will help to accelerate our progress in providing an ever-improving solution for our customers.
