Dry Line Could Produce Isolated Storms for West Texas Today

9 Jun 2021, 2:10 pm

The dry line set-up will happening again today for western parts of the Lone Star State.  This severe risk will be extremely isolated and over a lot rural areas, but places like Lubbock, Midland and Fort Stockton could see a storm or two.  Here is a look at the latest forecast.

Severe Outlook

The Storm Prediction Center is highlighting a very narrow area of severe storms.  Basically from the Big Bend of Texas to southwest Oklahoma is where we could see some isolated strong storms with today’s daytime heating.

Severe Risks

The severe risk today will be for both damaging winds and large hail. This risk will be very isolated, but residents in these areas will just want to be weather aware in case they have to take cover.

Forecast

Our particular forecast model is showing storms firing up closer to the border with Mexico this afternoon. Our in house forecast model isn’t buying the storm Here is the very latest timing for today’s storms.

More updates on the dry line forecast will coming up all day on WeatherNation.
