BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province saw trade with countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes record a new high at 51.24 billion yuan in November, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.1 percent, according to data from local customs.

Total trade of Shandong with B&R countries thus amounted to 465.04 billion yuan in the first 11 months of this year, an increase of 5.1 percent over the same period last year.

In November, the province's trade with Indonesia, Vietnam and India maintained relatively fast growth of 40.5 percent, 21.1 percent and 20.6 percent, respectively.

To be specific, its foreign trade with ASEAN countries was 21.05 billion yuan in November, accounting for 41.1 percent of its foreign trade with the Belt & Road countries and regions, which makes ASEAN countries its largest trade market.

Mechanical and electrical products, agricultural products, labor-intensive products and steel are the main export commodities of the province. In November, Shandong Province exported 8.89 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products to B&R countries, an increase of 17 percent on year.
