HMD Global's entry-level Nokia 2.4 goes on sale in India

HMD Global launched the budget Nokia 2.4 smartphone in India last week at Rs 10,399 in Dusk, Fjord and Charcoal colours. The smartphone is now on sale in the country starting today at leading retail outlets across India, and online on Flipkart and Nokia's online store.

As a launch offer, Jio users who buy the Nokia 2.4 can avail benefits worth Rs 3,550. Customers will get instant cashback of Rs 2,000 on Rs 349 prepaid recharge, and Rs 1,550 worth vouchers from partners. The offer can be availed by both new and existing Jio users.

At its price, the Nokia 2.4 competes against Redmi 9 Prime, Realme 7 and the newly launched Micromax In Note 1.

The Nokia 2.4 offers a large 6.5-inch HD+ display with 20:9 aspect ratio. It uses entry-level MediaTek Helio P22 chipset and has only a 3GB RAM variant with 64GB internal storage. It also has dual SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot that supports up to 512GB additional storage.

For photos, it sports a dual setup having a 13MP primary camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. It has a 5MP shooter housed in the dew-drop notch for selfies and video calls. A 4,500mAh battery powers the smartphone and it supports up to 5W charging via micro-USB port.

The device runs on Android 10 out of the box and is also part of the Android One program. Nokia promises to roll out the latest Android OS updates for two years and monthly security updates for three years. Nokia, right now, is the only major OEM offering Android One smartphones with stock Android OS.

The Nokia 2.4 weighs 189 grams and is 8.69mm thick and has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Notably, it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, FM radio.
