The Department ofEnvironmental Monitoring, Planning and Management at the University of Eldoret offers undergraduate programmes in environmental studies, with specialisations in planning and conservation. It also offers MA and PhD programmes in either planning or environmental information systems. The Department is headed by Dr Benjamin Mwasi.

The Department of Spatial Planning and Design at the Technical University of Kenya offers Bachelor of Built Environment programmes in urban and regional planning, as well as urban design and development. The head of department is Dr Lawrence Esho.
