Telecoms regulator Ofcom has raised £2.34bn from its auction of 4G mobile spectrum, less than expected.

Back in April 2000 the auction for 3G licences raised £22bn, a significant windfall for the Labour government, as Rory Cellan-Jones reported for the Nine O'Clock news at the time.
