In his 30-minute presentation on Thursday, Zoro Shao, vice-president and global general manager of the AI-powered smart eyewear manufacturer Rokid Group, repeatedly underscored the importance of openness, sharing and collaboration in the tech industry.

"We are here in Silicon Valley to materialize our promise," said Shao, referring to the announcement Rokid made at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. "We told the world back then that we are going to launch a new product."

Shao made the remarks at the company's Happy Hour event held in the San Francisco Bay Area to launch its Style Pack program and other initiatives.

Under Rokid's Thousand Creator Program, Shao said 1,000 AI Glasses Style Packs will be provided to creators in North America, the United States in particular, in the hope that creators at every stage, established or emerging, will share their stories.

Each Style Pack comes with a pair of Rokid Ai Glasses Style and a Rokid Capsule Battery Pack. "We are making AI glasses more accessible," Shao said. Under the program, creators with more than 1,000 followers can apply for a complimentary Style Pack, while emerging ones can purchase a Style Pack at $199, an exclusive creator pricing.

Rokid also expanded its AI ecosystem by introducing its Rokid Agent Store and YodaOS. The agent store, a centralized platform for developers, allows building and sharing of custom AI agentic experiences for Rokid smart glasses. YodaOS, Rokid's spatial computing operating system built on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), already powers Rokid's AR innovations like the Rokid Max 2, which blends digital and physical worlds by enhancing traditional apps with new spatial interactions.

Currently, Rokid's products cover applications such as real-time translation, information retrieval, object recognition, image recording, personalized AI agents, and multi-model compatibility. About 33,000 developers are registered to use the Rokid open-source platform, about half of whom are from China. "We are hoping to attract more global developers, especially those from Silicon Valley," Shao said.

"Open source is Rokid's religion, a belief embedded in our genes," said Shao. "Our platform is open. Our North American headquarters is in Mountain View, California. We invite everyone to join the build, and share through the Rokid AI ecosystem, so our clients can have good human-computer interaction."

Consisting of approximately 100 components, Rokid smart glasses embody global collaboration and wisdom, said Shao. "We use a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, a Sony camera sensor, a China-made battery, and all our algorithms and software are delivered by our China team."

Founded 12 years ago in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, Rokid has grown to become a global presence, offering the first open AI ecosystem for wearables, dual-chip architecture, multilingual voice interaction, intuitive AI shortcuts, and mass-produced smart glasses with display capabilities.

"We don't know yet what kind of content our users and registered developers will share with us," said Shao. "I can't wait to see their creations."
