China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday that it has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of dichlorosilane (DCS) originating from Japan.
DCS is mainly used in semiconductor manufacturing, including in the production of logic and memory chips.
According to evidence submitted by domestic producers, prices of DCS imported from Japan fell by 31 percent from 2022 to 2024, while import volumes saw an overall growth.
"The dumped imports from Japan have caused damage to the production and operations of China's domestic industry," said the Ministry of Commerce on its official website.
It is also noted that the investigating authorities will conduct the probe in accordance with the law, fully safeguard the rights of all interested parties, and make an objective and impartial ruling based on the findings.
