The Xi’an Jiaotong University-based Silk Road Training Base of the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (shortened as “IKCEST”) held the 2017 First (or 8th of this kind) Training Program on Internet of Things Theory and Practice Innovation for the Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development from February 27 to March 12, 2017. The program attracted international and exchange students at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xidian University, Chang’an University and Xi’an Shiyou University to attend. Among them were more than 170 students from 38 countries including Pakistan, Nepal, Kenya, Cannes, Rwanda, Cameroon, Nigeria, Thailand and Uganda along the Belt and Road, as well as a number of exchange students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
All the trainees took part in the inauguration meeting of the Silk Road Training Base on February 27, engaged in a high-end academic lecture on “High Performance Computer Research”, the first lecture of the course given by CAE Vice President Chen Zuoning, and interactively exchanged with Prof. Chen. Featuring plain language and easy-to-understand presentation, the lecture was a real eye-opener for the trainees and was well received.
